Context:
Under the overall supervision of the IOM Washington Chief of Mission and the Head of Unit, and under direct supervision of the Counter-Trafficking Project Coordinator, the incumbent will assist in carrying out the functions of IOM’s Counter-Trafficking and Protection Unit’s (CPU) work in the Washington, DC office.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
Assist in the organization of official visits from IOM colleagues to IOM Washington; including scheduling of meetings and logistics, attend meetings related to US donors funding issues and IOM programs, and draft summary reports (Notes for File) of meetings and visits to be shared appropriately within IOM;
Assist unit members in their travel preparations, including but not limited to preparation of travel authorizations, security clearances, issuance of visas, expense claims;
Assist in monitoring key deadlines for IOM projects falling under the Counter Trafficking and Protection Unit’s portfolio that are funded by US donors and reporting requirements and work with IOM Missions to help ensure compliance with funding agreements;
Assist the Unit in the review and submission of budget and narrative proposals for US donors (J/TIP, INL, USAID and others) funding opportunities on behalf of IOM Missions. This includes ensuring documents comply with relevant donor application guidelines, use of GrantSolutions.gov and Grants.gov systems;
Assist in the technical review and submission of progress reports for projects falling under the Counter Trafficking and Protection Unit’s portfolio that are funded by US donors;
Assist in preparing donor reports for the Unit’s projects;
Assist in the processing of donor agreements falling under the Counter Trafficking and Protection Unit’s portfolio that are funded by US donors on behalf of IOM Missions;
Assist the Project Coordinator with the implementation of the ILEA program activities, related to providing training on counter trafficking to senior law enforcement officials at the different ILEA academies, including preparing the material packages to be sent to the training sites and assisting in the recently added evaluation component of the project;
Manage the inputting of case data information in relation to the direct assistance projects implemented by the Unit;
Other such duties as required, including but not limited to administrative duties and support of program staff implementing programs;
Serve as a back-up in the absence of the Project Coordinator;
Required Qualifications and Experiences:
High school diploma and 4 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience, preferably in International Development, Political Science, Social Work, or International Affairs;
Experience, preferably with an international organization in the anti-human trafficking, relief and/or development field;
Knowledge of US Government donors; in particular J/TIP;
Experience in the issue of human trafficking , and grant administration;
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work related experience.
Experience with an IOM Mission, particularly in counter-trafficking, case management, and/or donor relations is an advantage.
Language
Fluency in English is required. A working knowledge of French or Spanish is an advantage.
