CONTEXT
As signatory to the Grand Bargain and as a member of the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI), IOM is committed to publishing to the IATI registry which is intended to enhance transparency and decision-making. Publishing will demonstrate how delivery chain of aid from donors down the transaction chain to final responders
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Manila Financial Services, the administrative supervision of the Financial Analyst (BPI and QA) and the functional supervision of the IATI Project Manager in Geneva, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective and efficient administrative and data management support to the IATI implementation process of IOM.
CORE FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to daily data management, maintenance and processing activities related to data publicized by IOM on the IATI registry and the IOM Open Data Portal.
- Initiate data reviews and analyses as required for the smooth and reliable data publishing.
- Research and analyse IATI publishing related topics as assigned.
- Contribute to IATI change-management planning and documentation.
- Monitor and maintain IATI specific data in ERP systems, interact with IOM units on data clearance related matters, process data uploads and data clearance related activities following established protocols and upon obtaining necessary approvals.
- Update and maintain IATI related communication tools and channels (Yammer, intranet, Teams site, Outlook groups)
- Maintain statistics on IATI project related KPIs.
- Provide ongoing support for the IATI data review and approval process before publishing. Collect input from respective units and ensure all issues are addressed before publishing.
- Responsible for processing IOM files to IATI registry on an IOM determined frequency basis upon appropriate prior approvals.
- Manage content included in the external visualization portal (open.iom.int)
- Assist with various information requests posed to the IATI publishing team.
- Identify and document reoccurring data quality issues, bring to the attention of the supervisors and recommend possible improvements to strengthen data quality and the IATI publishing process.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education
• University degree in Business Administration or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with three years of relevant professional experience, preferably in accounting or finance, or similar roles;
• Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with five years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
• Sound knowledge of accounting systems and/or SAP plus generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls;
• Knowledge in accounting and financial reporting system of IOM is an advantage;
• Good knowledge of information technology and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel;
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Experience with IATI a major advantage;
• Innovative problem-solving approach to work;
• Previous work experience in international organizations and companies would be an advantage.
Languages
Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of French and/or Spanish an advantage.
